Happy New Year.....

What a bad blogger I am.....and can someone tell me where December whet!!!  It came, we enjoyed and then it went again!  It was such a busy month with the school Christmas Fayre, the Christmas play and generally getting prepared for the big day....

Back to crafting in general, I have lost any inspiration I had and so I am struggling at the moment but I'm sure normal service will be resumed shortly!!

It was my friends birthday on Christmas Eve but she has a problem with anyone giving her winter themed presents or cards so I went for a really spring like card.....

Actually this is one is the one made for my niece who was 16 at the end of November but my friends was pretty similar.
I have stamped the butterflies with versamark using to Papillion Potpourri set and heat embossed them, then punched them out using the matching punch, elegant butterfly.  The papers are from the Floral Districe set which are summery and pretty.  The base card was spritzed using my favourite tool, the spritzer (seem to be using on most things lately!)

Anyway, I will aim to be a better blogger from now on, sorry.  I wish you all a very Happy New Year, I hope 2013 is good to each and everyone of you and I'm looking forward to sharing another year of lovely crafting together.

Thanks for your patience and for stopping by,
Take care

Lets try again....

I have had a bit of advice on what I am doing wrong with my photos so here's hoping this works.......

This card was for my niece who turned 16 over the weekend.  I bought this stamp set and punch after seeing lots of blogs and posts on pinterest, it really is a lovely set and I have used it quite a bit since getting it!

Yay......it worked! I am back in business (as they say!) I am so untechnical and feel very foolish at my ignorance but I am getting there....slowly.

I have clear embossed the three butterflies and punched them out, then I really like double mounting them.  I do think this card is quite girly but quite grown up too....I'm sure she liked it!  I wasn't able to see her on her special day as we had no heating, hot water or electric so had to wait in for various men!!!

Anyway, I have card club tomorrow and we are making some Christmas gifts so looking forward to spreading some Christmas cheer....will share with you asap x

Better flowers....

I promised you a better card (in my opinion) tonight.  I just think the placing of the card is better but you live and learn and as us all crafters know, we don't make mistakes, just happy accidents!!

This card is for my friend whose birthday is today.  She also makes cards and her style is very different to mine but I love them.  Aaron said yesterday that he had seen a card that she had made and added "Her cards are very nearly better than yours now Mummy!!"  Oh well, the world would be boring if we were all the same.

This is pretty much the same as yesterday but I do prefer it. Possibly the leaves balance it out a bit.

Waiting.........

We are sitting here waiting for the mens 100m final and obviously it will all be over by the time I finish this post but who will be the olympic champion???

Guess what.....you are lucky lucky people.... Stampin' Up have yet another special offer during the month of August and this one is lovely.
I've shown you a sneek peek of this set already but it called Reason to Smile and it could be yours for FREE!!!  If you place an order of 60.00 or more the set can be yours. Alternatively you can purchase it as normal, 18.95 for wood mount or 14.95 for clear mount. (Just so you know, my pound sign on my keyboard doesn't work for some reason!)

Here are a couple of cards make using this set that you have seen before;

Back to todays card.  I've made a card that I'm an unsure of...  I have included a spiral flower and these have never been too succesful for me in the past but I've had another try and came up with this....

I am not too happy with the placing of the flowers but I've since made another and am much happier with it but I can't show you until tomorrow.  I have just noticed that I have used the same papers on all three cards in this post.  I either really like it or was just using up the whole sheet (possibly a bit of both!)

So, the final is over and a particular athlete was very entertaining as usual (don't want to spoil the result for you!)

Guitar Thanks...

What is it with my boys and the shower???  They love it and would be in there all evening given half the chance, I know that won't be the same in a few years, I'll be dragging them into it.  Elliot has been in the shower for nearly 20 minutes....

I mentioned that Aaron was in a concert the other evening and he asked me to make a thank you card for the guitar teacher.

The main image isn't from Stampin' Up, not sure who its from but I borrowed it from my Mum, but I thought it definately needed a guitar.

It's also not a colour combination I use very often but I like it!!!  I really must try and be more adventurous with my colour choices in future I think!

So, I have just watched Andy Murray lose at Wimbledon, so close but so far!!!  Maybe next year.......

We have the olympic torch coming our way this week so we'll be out on the streets cheering (and in the rain no doubt!)

Take care

Suede effect flower

You'll be pleased to know I have finally sorted and cleaned my craft room and I even found the die I thought I had lost, no such luck with the punch though...

I have made a card for a friends birthday and, as I do every week recently, I had a look over at the simply stampin challenge blog and thought I would give it a go.
The challenge is clean and simple and although these colours on this card  may not normally be my first thought as clean and simple, I think it works.

I tried the suede effect for the flower.  I kept running the flower between my thumb and bone folder the break the fibres of the card.  The card will start to peel apart and when this happens you slowly seperate the two pieces.  The close up shows it although the light isn't that great.

Last night Aaron was playing the guitar in a concert at our local theatre.  It was really good and I was really proud of him.  He was on edge all day but he thoroughly enjoyed being on stage and with the recent 'song writing' he and his friends are doing he may just make his fortune.......
