Regional Training

Yesterday I went to Reading to attend Stampin' Up's regional training and what an experience......to be in a room with sooo many talented ladies (and 2 men!) was quite daunting for the first few minutes but also so inspiring.  I have come away so excited about what my business could become...I just have to put it all into practice now!!!

We had to make our own name badges for the day and was told to be as creative as possible.....so heres mine!!!  The photo is dreadful (not sure why!) but you get the idea.  I  used a brand new item for this (which may be coming up in the new Summer mini catalogue.......) and I'm happy with the end result!

So back to the day, we were given some freebies, made a few items, were given LOTS of advice and hints and tips and I also won a prize.  When I arrived I was told to pick an envelope at random from many on the table and later in the day we were told to open them.  Some were winning envelopes and some were not....thankfully, mine was a winner.  I received a DSP pack, a fabric pack, and two other "new" things from the upcoming mini....

So, talking of the new mini catalogue, it goes live on 1st May (not too long now!) Unfortunately, I am not about for the next few days so my sharing of the new catalogue and ideas will be delayed, apologies for that but I promise I'll be back with a vengence later in the week....

Oh, and as it has been so long since I last posted, just an update!!!  Aaron had a fabulous time on his school trip, came back tired and dirty, and although Elliot missed him, he was fine without him!

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

One for the boys.....

Well, what an evening I've had so far.... Aaron is off on a school trip tomorrow for three days and we have had tears all evening.....not from Aaron but from Elliot - he  is distraught, keeps saying how much he will miss his brother! (proof that they do actually love each other!!)  I am dreading the morning!!!

I made a man card at the weekend and you all know what I think about man cards but this has turned out pretty good (if I say so myself!)

I have used my trusty old motorbike stamp off centre and used the splatter stamp from the French Foliage set and the spritzer.  The paper is from the gone but not forgotton Sale-a-bration papers.
The base is the confetti cream cardstock and the motorbike is layered onto crumb cake and chocolate chip (sounds good enough to eat!) that I have run through the big shot using the lattice embossing folder.

Quite a nice idea for a Fathers Day card I think.....

Just a reminder, I am still running a monthly card club, the last Wednesday of each month, 7pm.  If you want to come along and enjoy the fun, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Swaps and Apologies.....

I'll start with my apologies first.....can't believe it's been a week since my last post....I have become very slack and I must try harder!!!! Having said that I am making my nephews wedding invitations and I have been finishing the Save the Date cards.  They are all done now so I'll have a few months off now until I have to start the actual invitations.

I am looking forward to a training day that SU are holding in Reading at the end of the month so I have been playing with ideas for my swaps.  I always find this a bit daunting as all the swaps I have received in the past have been great and the ladies are very talented but I have had a go all the same.....

I have made 37 rosettes using the hostess papers, Cheerful Treat and added them to the medallion stamp.  I have used this on a few cards lately and its really effective.  I'm not sure if I will make more as yet, there are about 100 people going to this training day but I doubt I'll be able to get that many made....

We have had a good Easter holiday but now trying to get ready for the start of term again.  Aaron goes on a school trip on Wednesday until Friday so I'll be packing this weekend as well as getting him to practice putting on a duvet cover as they have to make thier own bed from scratch when they get there.  I'm sure this is going to prove quite tricky.....

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

More givaways.....

Sale-a-bration might be over but the lovely people at Stampin' Up have decided to spoil with another giveaway.  During the month of April, when you spend 45.00 or more you can choose a FREE designer paper pack.

If you want to host a workshop of place an order do not hesitate to contact me.

We are enjoying the Easter holidays so far.  We have been to stay with some friends for a few days and we had a lovely day out yesterday.  Today I haven't moved too far from the craft room, which is always the best way to spend a quiet day.
I have been busy playing with different ideas and have come across this really lovely mini pillow box on you tube so I had to have a go.

Its really cute and I like that it makes the pillow box die even more versatile.  I did also make a card to go with it, a really easy one using a fabulous scallop circle punch that is in the mini catalogue but not for much longer....the mini catalogue ends at the end of April to make room for a brand new shiny summer mini...so you will need to order any goodies you may want before then.

Enjoy the rest of the Easter weekend and thanks for stopping by,
Take care
