Re-inkers

Just a quick post this morning as I am waiting for a delivery and then I'm off to work until 6.30pm....think that might just finish me off!!!

Last week I had a workshop and I wanted to show different techniques using re-inkers.  I have only just got some but there are a huge amount of different things you can do with them so I think I might just have to extend my range!!!
I made three cards using three diferent techniques but today I am showing the baby wipe technique.  It is sooo easy but can can achieve some stunning results. Basically, you drop some re-inkers onto a baby wipe and let them mix and then use that as your ink pad.

Here's a really quick card using that technique.....

The re-inkers I have used are from the in-colour range, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral.

I will try and pop back tomorrow with another card showing a different technique.
Have a good day,

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Where have I been ???

What a horrible few days we've had.....  We have all had a bug (except Elliot, who I'm sure won't be long) and it has really wiped us out!!!
I haven't felt so bad for a long time but hopefully I am on the mend now!   I've even had to cancel cardclub tonight as I didn't want to pass anything on but very disappointed that I had to make that decision!!

Can you believe though, I haven't even had the inclination to craft....shock horror!! I'm about to put an end to that and start my swaps for next months training now though.

I was playing last week with a card that was originally a sketch from the simply stampin challenge blog from last week although I never bothered to enter it as it didn't turn out according to plan.  It was a little out of my comfort zone and I have decided to post it here as I wanted to show you how we all make mistakes and I think that this is really not a good card!!!!!

Maybe it's just too busy for me.....who knows!!!

This post has taken me ages to write as I keep being called upstairs (I should be skinny!) Aaron is complaining of tummy pains again, think it may be a long night.

Thanks for stopping by and apologies again for the absence.
Take care

Congratultions.....with Elizabeth

So, I promised you a card I made for a special lady at school albeit a day late!!

A garden party was held at school today for a lovely lady who had been working at the school for 40 years.  Mrs Weight MBE is part of the furniture at the school and is loved by all the children and parents.

My first encounter of Mrs Weight was when a glamorous lady who I had seen about the school (I didn't know who she was a this time!) approached me and asked if she could give Aaron a cuddle every morning.  I later found out that she asked most parents as she is a very tactile lady and would take every pupil home with her given half the chance. (It's sad that she has to ask though!)

The children were all asked to take a single flower so that a big arrangement could be made and we made a card of course....

I stamped the base card with one of my favourite stamps from baroque motifs and spritzed it with the shimmer mist paint.  The main image is the Elizabeth stamp that I coloured in with a blender pen and painted over the top with the shimmer paint (I think you can see this in the second picture)

Along with the garden party the boys have been very excited as we have finally put up a dart board in their room, a decision made by my husband I hasten to add.......and within about 10 minutes we had holes in the wall.....Big mistake!!!!
They seem to be missing the cork board around the dart board....at least I can never be blamed!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

My Mums Birthday...

Yesterday was my Mums 70th Birthday.....

She really is amazing, she doesn't look or act like a 70 year old, she really has more energy and get up and go than I do most of the time!  I took her and my Dad to Marlborough for a wander and for afternoon tea at a lovely tearoom (who sold beautiful cakes!!!!)
Talking of beautiful cakes, I asked my friend to make a birthday cake and was amazed at what I picked up....Have a look at this...

My brother had taken the day off work to then cook a delicious roast for 11 of us for tea.  It really was a lovely day and I think my Mum enjoyed herself.

So, as I mentioned, I have no creative juices flowing at the moment at all and therefore I was a bit unhappy with my Mums card from me but I did redeem myself with what the boys gave her.  I decided that she was recieve too many cards so I opted for some bunting instead.....

I have never made bunting of this size before but I am really happy with the way it turned out.  I didn't put  her age or a birthday greeting on it so that she can keep it up all the time if she wanted to but the boys did write a message on the back (Aarons was a bit cheeky but she took it well!!)

I'll be back tomorrow with a card for a special lady at the boys school.

I've got to go and type up Aarons latest song....He and a few friends at school have started a little group and they are all busy writing songs at the moment and choosing the best few.  He ran out of time tonight so I said I would do it for him and to my surprise.....it was a pretty good song.  He may be the next Gary Barlow...who knows!!!

Anniversary Wishes

Rain, rain and more rain........it won't stop!!!!  and I am fed up with it now!!

Anyway, it was my wedding anniversary last week and for some reason it seemed to creep up on me and I found myself making this card this night before....a bit unlike me and it was a bit rushed but when needs must and all that....(that doesn't sound very romantic at all!)

I borrowed my friends heart shaped nestabilities and came up with this.....

I have used the real red DSP from the paper stack and the swirl from Everything Eleanor.  The letters are stamped with the broadsheet alphabet set.

I have been practising with baking scones tonight.  We have special garden party at school at the weekend and have been asked to supply scones.  I normally always buy my cakes for school as I am too embarrassed to admit they are mine but I thought with a little practice I might be able to give home baked scones this time (it has been ages since I made them) and do you know what.....they weren't too bad at all.
I have to make a card for the person who they are hosting the party for so I will be back in the week with that.

I have started on my Fathers Day cards but I seem to have lost my creative mojo so things are happening VERY slowly.

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Weekend Celebrations.

What a weekend....I hope everyone has enjoyed the Jubilee celebrations, it really has been spectacular.  We went away for the weekend with friends and had a fabulous time.  Back to normality tomorrow!!!

I did promise you this card a few days ago but as I was sooooo disorganised before going away I ran out of time.  This is a card we made at the last card club.  I hold a card club on the last Wednesday of every month and if you are interested in attending with no commitment then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

So, the card.....

I have again used products from the summer mini catalogue. The stamp is from the Mixed Bunch set and it has a coordinating punch which is always great.  I have used the rock and roll technique but I'm not sure that shows up on the card.  This is quite a 3D card but could be flat for posting just as well.

I think this is simple but effective card that could also be used for a number of different occasions.

Having just been beaten at an arm wrestle by my 7 year old son I am off to improve my upper bod strength!!!!
