Nappy News!

Well, we had some very exciting news over the Easter break.....I am going to become a Great Aunt!!!!  How old do I feel?  My wonderful nephew and his girlfriend have announced they are going to become parents sometime in November.  We are so pleased for them, they are a fantastic couple!!

The rest of break was pretty good too really with some fab weather!!  We had a sort out of the loft which was well overdue.  Until today I was trying to find homes for nearly 300 cherished teddies (collectable ornaments for those who have not heard of them) but I am pleased to say that they are just moving......from my loft to my Mums loft....cheers Mum....!

The boys received a few Easter eggs but not so many that we will still be staring at them this time next year, that has happened before now believe me!
Our next door neighbour (not the new ones) gave the boys an egg so we have done her a little Thank you card as she is very sweet.

I went to a Stampin Up party today with the lovely Amanda and bought a few things for the Big Shot, can't wait for that to arrive to have a play.  I've booked a party myself for later in the year, I love their stuff and could quite honestly spend a fortune, I was surprised with how good I managed to be today!  I'm sure my husband would be impressed with my willpower.

Talking of willpower, I have not gone to Weightwatchers again this week (two missed weeks now) so that can't be good....oh well, a girl can't be perfect all the time!!!

Bye for now xxx
Materials used for the card: Kaiser flowers, DoCraft stamp, Stazon inkpad, Promarkers, Candy dots and Nestabilites.

My first time........

....not that "first time" lol.

My friend told me about a website with free digistamps.  I haven't used digistamps before but it was a really good site and well worth a visit, www.birdscards.com, have a look when you get a chance.
So here is my first card made with a digistamp.....

This is for a friends son, I think its quite cute really.  I found the spotty paper in the back of the cupboard and coloured the image using promarkers. I also glazed the spots on the image and the number 4 but that doesn't show in the picture.  The 4 'badge' is also from the website.  It has all sorts, sentiments, frames, borders etc.

We seem to have had another packed week, well, the boys have anyway.  I have waited around an awful lot but I guess thats part of the job!  At least yesterday I was able to sit in the park in the glorious sun, have some lunch and read my book!!!  (so I guess I shouldn't complain.)

My son and I were playing about the other day and this is the card  he made using my new aquamarkers.  He did everything himself, the stamping, the colouring and the mounting.  I am very impressed.  He has since sent this to his cousin whose birthday is next week.

Not that we have much planned over the weekend, but I guess I won't be crafting too much so Happy Easter everyone....don't eat too much chocolate!!!!
Take care xxx

Mellow Yellow

Afternoon

I am having a very lazy afternoon today and it's bliss.  The boys are busy being crafty and colouring and I am just chillin!!!

I am entering this card into the Crafty Cardmakers 'a recipe' challenge.  The challenge was the main colour had to be yellow, use ribbon, stitching and gems.  This is what I came up with!
This is my first attempt at a fan flower and I really like them, very easy but very effective.

I got my aquamarkers yesterday so we were having a play last night and I am loving them.  I'm sure I will be using them some time soon so I'll let you know how I get on.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Bye for now xx

New neighbours!

Evening All

So, we had a change of neighbours today!  It seems a little strange as our old neighbour has been there forever but life changes and people move on so I'm looking forward to getting to know the new couple.

I popped round this evening with a card and a bottle of wine just to say Hi and to warn them about the footballs flying over the fence.  They seemed pleasant enough and quite obliging about returning the balls....we'll see how long their enthusiasm lasts!!!

So the card I gave them was a quickie, simple and served a purpose.  I am going to enter it into the My Time to Craft challenge 'spots' this week  No 136.

I stamped 'NEW HOME' on the candy spots down the side

I stamped the bird direct to the card then stamped it again, cut it out and attached with foam squares
 Dreadful photos again.....sorry!

I have been having a lovely week with the boys but it has flown.  They have another packed week next week ( They have a better social life than me honestly)

Better late than never......

Good Morning

My boys and I are enjoying a very lazy morning so far today....it's great!!  We are meeting up with friends later to go bowling though so we'll have to get sorted pretty soon.

Today I am posting the mothers day card I gave to my Mum.  There is a bit of a story for the delay but I won't bore with that this morning.  I have an order for an extra mothers day card for next year as my brother (being a typical bloke!) went to the shop on the Sunday morning to find they were sold out!!!!

The photo of the flowers is dreadful but I wanted to show them close up.  They are made with layers of scallop circle punch  cut to the middle, inked and curled.  The pink flower is a cuttlebug die and then the small green centre is the flower punch from SU.  The main stamp was actually free with a magazine.

Well,  I suppose I should go and round up the troops and get organised!!

It's sunny....

Yeah, the sun is shining and I feel great!  Its amazing how much happier everyone seems when the sun is out!!
My children broke up from school today so if the sun stays out we should all have a lovely holiday (we can kick them out into the garden and carry on crafting...What a wicked mother I am!)

So, I think I may have my mojo back (well, it's on its way...)  As I said in an earlier post its my brother in laws birthday and  we are all off out tomorrow night so I have made him and card form me and my husband and a card from the boys.

The green one (from us) is a card on a card (you know what I mean!)  I have cut the 50 out from a template and scrunched it up then distressed it although doesn't show up that well.  I have torn and distressed the two patterned papers and the 'just for you' greeting was embossed with clear embossing powders twice.

This card (from the boys) is A5 card folded in half then the front is folded back on itself (not sure what it's called)  I have diecut 'Uncle Bob' and the tag.  I stamped the candles and the greeting.  Mens cards are tricky I find so I'm happy with how these came out.

I was watching Create and Craft today and their pick of the week this week are the aquamarkers and very impressed I was too so I think they may have to be my next purchase.

Ok, got to go and pack a bag now for my youngest, he is out for the day tomorrow with his friend and being picked up pretty early so best be organised.
Bye for now,
Clair xx
