What have I been doing all week???

Well, so much for posting every night last week....I'm so sorry, something is going very wrong and I just don't seem to find any spare time!!!  We haven't had a computer for a few days so that didn't help but other than that I have no excuses!!!

My first card club went very well so I was very pleased on Wednesday and now I'm trying to think of ideas for next month!!!

First though, my 7yr old son asked me to make a Valentine card for his girlfriend....Yep, you did read it right...he is only 7!!!  They have been a 'couple' for a while now and it's really sweet, they both really do like each other.  So I needed to make a card that wasn't too  grown up....so here is what I came up with;

I have used melon mambo as a colour instead of red.  The lovebirds are from the Easy Events set, it has Wedding Wishes as a sentiment so I masked that off as thought that may be a bit premature...lol!!!

A simple card but very suitable for the recipient!!!! My son liked it so I had his approval and for this card I guess thats all that matters....

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Supplies used; All SU unless stated; Melon Mambo DSP and ink, Easy events stamp set, pretty in pink ink, whisper white card, corner punch and lucky limeade ink.

Swaps....

Good Afternoon

I have team training this weekend and I had such a great time last time so I am really looking forward to it.  We make things to swap with other demonstrators which is a great idea for sharing ideas and inspiration.  This is the first time I've had to make swaps and I was a bit nervous about having to make so many of one thing but I have kept it simple this time...(I can be more adventurous next time...maybe!)

I've made bookmarks....40 of them!
I got the large paperclips from Staples but everything else is from Stampin Up.....simple but sweet.  Who knows what I'm going to receive back on Saturday but I will share them with you next week.

I have card club next week and am really looking forward to it.  I have made the three cards that my lovely ladies will be making so I will share those with you next week also...crikey, I may even post something everyday, you never know!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Cupcakes...

Hi there,

When I left for work this morning we had the plan to go shopping for the boys but by the time I got home the men of the house had changed their minds and didn't fancy it...I didn't even try and convince them otherwise so I have been busy crafting all afternoon....

I have a workshop booked for early next month and the hostess has requested something for Easter so I have been playing about with that...and I made a birthday card for my good friend who now lives in New Zealand.

I have made this flat because of the rising postage costs but I bet it would look great with a bit of dimension.  I have used the new create a cupcake stamp set and matching punch from the new mini catalogue and think it really is a fabulous set. To get the backing topper, I used the top note die by cutting it once then turning it  90' and cutting it again.  Just goes to show that sometimes you can do more with your supplies with a little imagination (or a little look at you tube!...)

We have football tomorrow but I am hoping it will be called off with a frozen pitch.....I am an awful mother!!!! but I really hate the cold!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

More motorbikes..

Hello all

I am finally sitting down with a cuppa after doing some housework so I feel the rest is well deserved.  I had a workshop yesterday with some lovely ladies who are fast becoming my 'regulars'.....It was great actually, we all had fun and learnt a few things from each other which is always good.

We made a card for the men in our lives...Got to tell you a little story though.  My supplies of masculine type stamps are fairly slim so whilst laying in bed one night having 101 ideas running through my head I decided to use the motorbike stamp but thought having a wheel type stamp would be good. Then it came to me!!!!  I got out of bed and went to rummage through my sons lego box and found an odd wheel.  I put it on a skewer and hey presto, I've got a wheel stamp.  It gave the effect I wanted and I was impressed with my brainwave.

I stamped the motorbike once, covered it with a mask and stamped it again without re-inking and repeated it to give the effect of a moving motorbike.  I roughed up the edges with scissors and mounted it onto pacific point cardstock.  After using my 'wheel' stamp I used the splatter stamp from the French Foliage set and the sentiment is from the easy events set.
Good card for boys of all ages and I guess the possibilites are endless, one lady suggested going to a charity shop and buying a toy motorbike to run through the inkpad....worth a try!!

I have designed the cards for this months card club and trying to get organised but the places are filling up fast so I am a very happy crafter.....

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Paisley Petals...

 Evening All

I was asked to make a 60th birthday card and really wanted to use my freebies.....you can get lots of freebies being a SU demonstrator!!!!

I received both the designer series paper pack and the stamp set free and hadn't used either so was keen to use them for this card.

I used the fun flowers die and the five petal flower punch.  The sentiment is from a set that is available during sale-a-bration (24th Jan - 31st Mar), spend forty five pound and you can choose a FREE stamp set.

I have my first party of the year later in the week so I'm very excited about that and busy getting prepared.  My hostess has requested a man card so I'll post the card later in the week.

Thanks for stopping by;
Take care

Nappy News....

Good Evening All, hope everyone had a good night last night.  I have to admit to having a great night but I did feel a little jaded this morning!!!  It must be a side effect to getting old.......

This year ended on a massive high for a man I work with, his wife had a baby boy on Friday and having seen some photos on facebook, baby Noah is gorgeous.

I wasn't going to craft at all today but the boys started to watch the darts so I took myself off to make a baby card.

I'm sure all their cards will be mainly blue so I thought a nice bright yellow would stand out.  I have used the baby stamp from the Easy Events set with pool party ink because that was the colour I was going to start with but changed my mind half way through, so, it's daffodil delight and marina mist.

It's my last day off tomorrow before going back to work and getting back into some sort of routine - it's going to kill me getting up before 9am!!!! but I think we all need some normality back to our lives!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care xxx
