Pancake day...

I think we have all had a few too many pancakes this evening but it's only once a year!!! (Once a year that we eat too many anyway, we are partial to a pancake or two in my house!)

I don't know what has happened with me but I think this is my third post on the trot....don't get too used to it, I'm sure my organised state won't continue!!!

So, today was the birthday of the YF/Y1 teacher at the boys school.  All the children have a soft spot for her, even those no longer in her year so Elliot asked me to make her a card and this is what I came up with....spot the continuing theme!!

I do really like the baroque motifs stamp set, hopefully it will be around forever, it's so easy to make a really pretty card without too much effort (meant in the nicest possible sense!)

I have to go and collect Aaron from Army cadets at 9pm  - he does struggle to get up on a Wednesday morning - but he thoroughly enjoys it so I'm sure it's worth it!

Congrats with Everything Eleanor

Hope everyone is well and if your kids were back to school today I hope the first morning wasn't too stressful...  Elliot went to school today although not feeling 100% but its a very small, very personal school so I knew he would be fine.  So, thats this episode over...not looking forward to the next one!

On Friday my neice passed her driving test (on her second attempt) so I made her a quick card using a new set that I was lucky enough to get for FREE....Everything Eleanor!  It's a very pretty set, very versatile so although this card does not have a ripped up L plate or anything remotely to do with passing her test, it's a pretty card!!!

The colours are amoung my favourites at the moment, calypso coral and pool party. no doubt you'll see these colours frequently over the next few weeks.....

I have a workshop on Wednesday so I have been busy getting sorted and I think I am done....the bags are packed.  And on Thursday I am meeting with my nephews girlfriend to discuss Wedding Invitation....I'm very excited!!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

One sheet wonder.

Wow...what a weekend!!!  My children always seem to be ill over a weekend and this weekend was no exception.  At 2am on Friday night/Saturday morning Elliot came in complaining of stomach pains and bang went any hope of sleep after that!!!!  He was diagnosed with grumbling appendix last year so I always take tummy ache seriously with him.  We had two visits to the hospital but thankfully it seems to have passed and he is much better....he even cheeked me this morning so I know he is on the mend!!!!

So, next month I have a one sheet wonder afternoon for my lovely ladies.  I have promised them a small free gift when they booked so I have been busy trying to do something suitable...all will be revealed soon.  But, the OSW way is to make quick cards using one sheet of patterend or stamped paper.  We are making 10 cards so I am showing five of those cards today and will show the other five later.

These have been made using the beautiful sale-a-bration Everyday Enchanment DSP and stamps that you can get FREE if you place an order for 45 pound up until 31st March.

What about that ribbon flower???!!!  Isn't it lovely?  I can't take any credit for it though but think I may be using it alot...pop over to www.cardsandacuppa.blogspot.com for a free tutorial.

I am off now to tidy my craft room....it's a bit of a mess...Shock horror!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Motorbike Birthdays...

We have had a good start to the half term by going for a brisk walk in the woods with a lovely little dog that my Mum is dog-sitting for.  The boys had a fabulous time running after Rosie the dog and we all came back rather dirty...
We have another fun-filled day tomorrow as we are going to see my neice in a singing/dancing show so looking forward to that.

I have another masculine card today made for my nephews birthday..(it's funny how all my men/boys cards are using the motorbike at the moment - I really must invest in some more manly stamps!)

I have stamped most of this with chocolate chip ink but have stamped it onto scrap paper first so the end effect is lighter and  have added crystal effects to the petrol tank and mud flaps.  The brown paper is from a roll of postable brown paper with the edges ripped and sponged with a river rock stamp pad.

I'll be back later in the week with some other creations of sorts......
Till then, Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Supplies used: Chocolate chip card and ink, river rock ink, motorbike stamp, linen thread, sentiment from happiest birthday wishes (hostess only set), very vanilla card, french folliage stamp set, mat pack. crystal effects

Medallion.

We woke up to a light blanket of snow again today which was quite nice....I know I have said before that I don't like it but it was enough today to look pretty but not enough to be scary or disrupt anything!!  I'm so miserable!!!

Anyway, I still have the desire to be organised so I am busy trying to be that way!  I have two girly birthdays next month so I have made them the same card.  One I need to post and the other I will be giving by hand so one is flat for Royal Mail.  I have also made my nephew his card so I will post that tomorrow.

This is the one to be hand delivered...The scallop circle has been raised using dimentionals and a gem added..

The flat one..

I have used rose red as a base then used perfect plum with the medallion stamp.  I'm not sure if you can see but I have stamped over the medallion with the baroque motif swirl using versamark  and embossed with clear embossing powder.  It does look very effective although I will admit it doesn't look that great in the photos!

The boys and I are going to make bath bombs tomorrow....so I think a long soak in the tub is on the cards tomorrow night....

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Birthdays with Pennant Parade.

Well....the snow we had has all but disappeared....

We have all stayed in today and after the trauma of homework (and lots of it!) we are having a relaxing afternoon.  I am trying to be organised (I do keep trying but never seem to succeed!) and hoping to get ahead with the my Birthday cards I need so I can then concentrate on card club and workshops etc.  I'm not doing too bad...I have started on my March Birthdays and I have made my Mothers Day card...obviously I can't show you that one yet as my Mum reads this....sorry Mum, you'll have to wait!

I do a have a Birthday card to show you today.  Its using the FAB pennant parade set and matching punch.  I love, love, love it.  I have made a similar card for this months card club but its such an easy set to use and suitable for all ages.....

I saw the idea on a you tube video (iteachstamping.com) but I've turned the bunting around and used them as party hats.  I don't know if you can see that well but the white card has been scored along the bottom and down the right hand side.  This card took no time at all and I think it could be used for anyone....

Sale-a-bration is still on and going very well so if you want to host a party or simply place an order do not hesitate to contact me, I'll be more than happy to help.

So, the boys have one more week at school and then it's half term....and we can't wait.  I am off work to so we are looking forward to doing lots of lovely things together.  We have ice skating and the cinema on the list and on the Friday Aaron is going on a trip with the Army cadets which he is sooo excited about so we have lots planned.....We'll need another week just to get over it!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

PS:  My 7 year old son was by my side whilst  I was reading this through and he told me off for not having a capital B in Birthday....I consider myself very much told....Sorry Elliot xx

Love is in the air...

Hi, hope everyone is well and keeping warm...it's cold, cold, cold....and I don't like it!!!

I did get a nice surprise in the post today, well, two actually.  Both were from Stampin' Up and both really unexpected treats.  The first was a birthday card (it's my birthday later in the month but when you get to a certain age, you stop telling people!!) offering me an EXTRA discount on any one thing in the catalogue....and the next was this..........

How exciting......I've been promoted and I received a bronze pin to attach to my apron - very proud of myself but I have to say it's so easy as I am doing something I love and getting rewarded for it.  If you are thinking of becoming a demonstrator now is a great time to do it as during Sale-a-bration you get even more for you money.  Get in touch for more details....

Now, after making sure my son was sorted with a Valentine card I thought I best do one for my husband (you never know, I may also get one from him....or maybe not!!)
I thought I would have a go at the distressed look but  I'm not sure if it works or if it looks like I've taken it out of the bin....I'll let you know is reaction.

I tried to take a close up photo but the light wasn't great.  The frame is from a Sale-a-bration set which I love called Elementary Elegance.  If you place an order during SAB of forty five pound or more you can get this set FREE!!!  The offer is only available until 31st March.  The 'love and the U' are two different stamps from the pennant parade set, again, another great set.

Oh well, I'll have to see if the distressed look grows on me.....it always looks fab when other people do it so maybe I need to attempt it again, practice makes perfect after all.

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care
