My husband had gone on his annual boys day out to Ascot racecourse today and we could do with a bit of luck so hopefully it'll be his day!!!
Today I have a card I've made for the little girls party that Elliot is going to tomorrow....I haven't got her a present yet so I best go shopping!!!
The flowers have been stamped and cut out and the middles are made from an everyday holepunch. The stamp set is Vintage Vouge from SU (not the sentiment though!)
So, I best go and get shopping.......

Motorbikes..
Wow....How hot has it been today? We are being spoilt by this weather but we'll soon be back to normal no doubt and I'll be moaning!!!
I have spent the day with a classful of 7 and 8 yr olds and it wasn't too bad. I was asked by the boys school if I would help out with a trip to Heathrow Airport and I can honestly say we had a lovely day (I'm sure the weather helped!!!)
I have another hectic weekend planned...Aaron goes to army cadets and he is going on his first camp (although they couldn't find anywhere safe for them to sleep so they are going to have to be taken and collected each day!) Elliot has another party so I am ferrying them around ....again!!
I suppose its what we all do and I don't mind......honest!!
So, back to the cards...Its a boys card (oh no!!!) but this stamp (from SU) is so lovely I think every boy that ever needs a card from now on will get it one way or another....
Right, I have to go and take Aaron to bed...they went up a while ago but he is complaining he can't sleep....cuddles from Mummy are in order I think!!!

Two ways....
I have been playing about with a new stamp set (French Foliage!) that I got at my last SU party. I have to admit I wouldn't have looked twice at it in the catalogue but Amanda had made some stunning cards with it and as I don't have too many masculine sets I thought I would give it a go.
The first card is colours that I automatically reached for because of the nature of the set.......
See, the set screams out for autumnal colours but then I tried it with more feminine colours......
...and I think that works too!!
These were incredibly quick cards and with a bit of matting and layering these could look really lovely. I think this might be a set I turn for quite often...

Still ploughing on....
I'm almost there but not quite!!!!! I still have a few October birthday cards to make, I can't believe how many birthdays we have next month! At least November is quieter....only two!!!
The boys have had some friends over for tea tonight so it's been a hectic evening but they all had fun and now my two are tucked up in bed....snoring!
Just a quick card to show tonight for my friends daughter.
The stamp was free with a magazine so I can't remember where it's from - sorry. I've coloured in the present but otherwise left it, then a bit of matting and layering and hey presto....all done! I have to post this one so it couldn't be too bulky but I think it's girly without being too young....
I'll keep plodding on through my mountain of birthdays.......

70th Birthday..
Just a quickie today, in between decorating, ironing and ferrying kids to and from parties I thought I would show you the 70th Birthday card for my Mums friend. She is a very classy lady and my Mum wanted a very nice card.
Now, my thoughts on very nice could have varied slightly on what my Mum thinks is very nice but thankfully she liked it.....
The flowers have been stamped, cut out and glazed with crystal effects from SU and both the stamp set (Vintage Vogue) and the border punch are from SU.
The Birthday girl is going to Barbados for her birthday.....lucky thing!!

PS: I seem to have lost my followers from the side....any ideas how I can get them back???

50th Birthday.
I have been to the Drs today and after being told for years that it was tendon trouble, they now think its a ganglion!!! I've got a keep an eye on it and if it doesn't improve they could operate!!!
How would I manage without crafting for a while???
Anyway, I have done the 50th card for my friends Mum. My brief was pretty and girly.....What do you think?
I've stamped the background using a SU set called Greenhouse Garden (its a two step stamp set!) The butterfly has been die cut, the top layer of the butterfly has been spritzed with cosmic shimmer mica mists and the strip of pearls is from SU.
The 'mum' and '50' have been die cut and the shape is half the top note die. The bottom layer has been embossed and the top layer was also spritzed. The two small flowers have been stamped, cut out and glazed.
I do struggle when I'm asked to do cards for others, it must be a confidence thing but hopefully she'll like it.

Typical!
I have had a painful wrist for weeks now (I mentioned it some time ago) and just before my holiday I cancelled a Drs appointment because it seemed better. This week it has been bad again so I've got an appoinment for tomorrow but guess what......it seems fine again!
Isn't that always the way.....typical!
Anyway, I've made a birthday card for my (almost) famous friend.....(now thats got you wondering!!)
I have known her for quite a few years (before I got married and had the boys we used to hit the town...alot!!!!) She worked in radio for a while but now works for Meridian news (South ITV region) so occasionally pops up reporting on various things. It was very exciting the first time I saw her on the telly but you soon get used to it!!
Although this is simple, I'm really quite pleased how it has turned out.
The whole card is made up from SU supplies. The birthday cake is from a hostess set 'A slice of life', the tags are 'tiny tags' and the sentiment is from 'so happy for you'.
I'm still struggling over what to do for the 50th and 70th birthday cards I've been asked to do...it's my mission for tomorrow.....

My teepee card!
I have finished my first attempt at a teepee card!!!
I saw it on youtube. I'm not sure how I can link this to the tutorial but if you go to youtube and search for teepee card it comes up....(see, just as I think I'm getting better at this technical stuff, I go and ruin it!!!)
This was easy to make and could have been embellished more but I'm happy with it and it folds flat for posting which is another bonus!
There are now quite a few photos........
.
This is for Aaron (my eldest son!) I can't quite believe he is going to be 9 next month...it's shocking. They say they grow up quick and time flies but somehow I don't think I quite believed them but how true it is!!!
I did just have a thought about how it would make a fab christmas card as a christmas tree!!!
I've still got lots of cards to make, a Christening card, a special 70th birthday and a 50th birthday for a friends mum....it just keeps going (which I am not complaining about!!!)
Also, just to update you, I am 99.9% sure I am going to become a demonstrator for SU!!!!
Will keep you posted, thanks for stopping by,

Apologies ....
Sorry.....
My Mum pointed out today that my last post was probably inappropriate for my blog so I just wanted to apologise if it caused any offence....It certainly wasn't meant to offend/upset anyone!
Back to crafting, my teepee card is coming on a treat....it'll be finished tonight so I'll pop back later.
Sorry again

Each to their own.....
I had to work today...all day!!! It wasn't as bad as it could have been but we did have one strange request today!
I work in a pharmacy and often get strange requests but this did make us all smile. A very well spoken man rang on behalf of his wife and asked if we stocked any flat backed brushes! The assistant asked many questions ( at this point she thought the woman was possibly disabled and struggled brushing her hair) only to be told his wife wanted it to spank him with!!!!! It was hurting her hand!!!!
Well, as I say, each to their own.
Anyway, I have a simple card to show you. It's actually a take on a design from an old Stampin Up catologue (08/09)
The stamp set is Simply Said (soon to be retired!) from SU stamped onto a ripped piece of cream card....dead simple!
I have a busy weekend ahead so not much time for crafting but I am attempting a teepee card that I saw on Youtube for Aarons birthday next month. I'll pop it on here onces it's done!

How lovely....
.....my day has been.
I have had a lovely chilled day today. The gasman came early and sorted our problem, the builder came to collect his dosh (we've just had our drive block paved!), my Mum and Dad came for coffee and inbetween all this I was crafting, it was just great.
I have made a dent in my October cards so I'm happy happy happy.....
Elliot has been invited to a party next week and the girl isn't very girly so here is what I have made.
The photo doesn't really do it any justice. I have used colours I don't often go for but I actually like this card.
The stamps are from SU and the sentiment is from Docrafts.
I am going to enter this into the following challenges.
Papercraft Star - #62 Anything goes
Papertake Weekly - Things with wings
Make it Monday - Anything goes.
I am working all day tomorrow and Saturday morning then I'm off to Southampton to see a show on Saturday evening so I'm looking forward to that.

Where has the year gone....
I have a good friend and neighbour who has just had a baby.......well, thats what I would have said if someone asked but guess what?...she hasn't JUST had a baby...her baby boy is 1 on Saturday!!
I can't believe it!!
I have only just finished the card off so the light isn't good - sorry.
I have started on my October birthday cards so I'm pleased about that and I have to wait in all day tomorrow for the gasman so I will have nothing else to do but craft - what a shame!!!

I'm Done.....
Well, I think I have finally finished Elliots thank you cards, thank goodness!!! I have a huge amount of birthdays in October though so I'll have to keep going!!!
I received my goodies from the Stampin Up party from last week and I have been playing. I did buy a couple of men type stamps so I now have no excuses when in comes to man cards!!!
We have had a quiet week really and now fully immersed in the school routine again!! Amazing how it doesn't take long....Football has also started (Yippee!) so bang goes my lie ins on a Sunday!!!! Aaron did get Tornado of the Week (they play for a team called Thatcham Tornadoes!!) so he is very happy and motivated for the season ahead!!!
Best get started on the October birthdays....thanks for stopping by,
Take care xxx
The main flower stamp is from a hostess set from SU called A Slice of Life. I have coloured the flowers in using the SU blender pen. |
The background stamps and leaf are from SU (sanded and french foliage). I have covered the top leaf with crackle glaze. |

18th Birthday..
I have been pottering tonight and have finally made my neices 18th Birthday card....now all I need to sort out is her gift!!!
It's quite girly and simple but I think it works. The base card is a pearlescent gold and I have used gold mirror card and a cream pearlescent paper to matt and layer....I have to say I never normally use mirror card as I'm not really keen but this card needed lifting - it was in danger of being too bland. The 18 is a template that I cut out and colour washed with cosmic shimmer mica powders and the strip is cut using a border punch from SU and also colour washed. The flowers are cream kaiser flowers that again have had the "bling" treament with the mica....I think the "bling"stands out on the photos (I'm sure I've sorted out my camera now!!!)
I had a shot a making a baby shower card tonight and again, it's ok....I'll pop it on later in the week. Her gifts arrived today though and they are really cool! I didn't want to buy the baby anything yet so I ordered her a pair of slippers for the hospital that has "New Mum" embroidered on them and a stress ball....the info said it's good during labour and/or for throwing at your partner....so I had to get it.
What do you think?

More Thank You cards.
I have made some more Thank you cards for Elliots birthday and I still have more to do....
My Mum came up with a good idea that would have saved time......she suggested I make them all the same!!!!! Now although that would have been easier I don't (normally) like to repeat any cards I make and really can't do batches of cards!!!
Now ignoring my comment above, I am seriously thinking of becoming a demonstrator for Stampin Up. As you may have already noticed I use alot of their products and I am beginning to think...Why not!!! I could make some extra money while doing something I really enjoy.....what do you think??? I really would appreciate any comments.
So back to the thank you cards......
I'm yet to even think about my nieces 18th birthday and I am working extra this week so I best get thinking......
Thanks for stopping by,

The thanks stamp is from SU and the star stamps are from a cupcake stamp set I have had ages. |
Again, the thanks stamp is from SU and the heart stamp from the cupcake set. |
The flowers are from SU (surprise surprise!) called Simply Said. |
Both stamps are from SU. This is the only 'proper' card. I folded some cardstock and put it through the Big Shot with a Nellies Die. |

Yippee....
.....I have finally made a start with Elliots Thank you cards.
Since my holiday I just don't feel inspired and have found a million and one things to do instead of craft (shocking, I know!!!)
I have made just 4 but thats a start and with the boys going back to school tomorrow I'm sure I will have more time on my hands.
I have made little postcard type cards....
I still have another 7 to make but at least I've made a start......
I have a question.....I have been invited to a baby shower. I have decided to buy the mother to be some special toiletries for her as I want to buy the baby something when he/she arrives but do I make her a card for the shower and if so what should it say? (I haven't been to one before!)
Also, just to let you know, I completed the 11 mile midnight walk on Saturday. I did it in 3hrs 15mins which I'm quite happy about. It was a nice thing to do and would do it again although the last mile was a real struggle!!!!
Anyway, Thanks for stopping by.

All sorted....
I can safely say I am ready!!!!!
We are all ready for school.....more uniform bought and named, new lunchbox ordered (after alot of aggrevation and specific requirements from a very fussy son!), shoes and new backpack purchased....phew, it's exhausting!
I haven't had any time to make anything new since getting back from our holiday but I thought I would show you Elliots birthday card (it's spookily similar to a card in a previous post but I won't tell if you don't!)
I have Thank you cards to make (from Elliots Birthday), a pile of ironing as high as Blackpool tower, an 18th birthday card for my niece for next week and my midnight walk tomorrow night!!!!!
Does life ever slow down? Oh well, I guess I wouldn't have it any other way.
