Batman....

Quick post tonight to show you a card for a little boy at school.  I'm not sure I've said before but the boys go to a really small school, only about 90 pupils in the whole school.  Because of this everyone knows everyone.  There is a little boy in foundation who is turning 6 next month and was adamant that he invited Aaron who is 10 to his party.

Aaron has decided that he won't attend the party (it is the same weekend as my birthday) but he said he still wanted to give him a card and present.  It is a Batman themed party!

I printed the batman logo from the internet, traced it and tried to cut it out.  I think it's not too bad!  Jack will love it, I'm sure.

Valentines.....

Is it too early to think about Valentines Day?  Well, it is for me because its my birthday before that but I do have to make a couple of cards for that special day.  Regular readers will know that my 8 year old son has a girlfriend!!!!!  They have been 'girlfriend and boyfriend' since pre school, they go to school together now and we live in the same street.
In actual fact she is the daughter of friends of ours and they do just really get on, I think they will be friends for a very long time.

Anyway, when making a card for her I have to bear in mind that she is only 8 so it can't be too grown up.  I think this card pretty much hits the mark!!

I have used the owl alot lately and think this is suitable for both the occasion and the age!  Do you like the paper bow?  There are lots of different tutorials on Pinterest, They are good to use up scraps and will match any card.

Don't forget, Sale-a-bration has started, I will be back with other SAB cards, but just a reminder, for every 45 pound spent you get to choose a FREE product.  We all like something for FREE too!!

Have a great weekend and stay safe if your weather is still dodgy!!

Back to Normality...

Well, the boys were back to school and I was back to work and although there is still plenty of the white stuff about, everything seems to be back to normal!!  Amazing really how we come to a halt when the snow comes!

I promised you men/boys cards and here they are....

I have used some new stamps again,  Collage Curios and Bloomin Marvellous.  I prefer the blue and orange but thats my personal choice...what do you think?

Men cards in general I think are hard, I see lots of people commenting on their blogs about this but I wonder why that is?  Most male cards either have a sport theme, a nautical theme, landscapes or animals so I suppose it limits you slightly......
I'll leave you with that thought!!!!!

Bloomin' Marvellous.

So, how are you all, staying warm and safe I hope.  We certainly did get the snow they forecast and it is lovely (only because school was closed and we didn't have to go anywhere - I don't like driving in it!)  We all walked to the local park armed with our extra thick black sacks!!!!  Everytime I see sledges for sale I think of all the other things I could be spending my money on but when the snow comes I do regret that decision....  The black sacks workes wonders though!

Anyway, I have used the time indoors wisely and started my nephews wedding invitations.  They are getting married in the summer and was honoured when they asked me to make them for them. I have some other little touches to do for them also so I'll be busy but it will be worth it!!

Back to today, I have made a card using another sale-a-bration set, Bloomin Marvellous.  This is for card club which runs every month, the last Wednesday of the month, at my house.  I have also used glitter....shock horror!!!!

This is the easiest card, just a bit of random stamping, a touch of glitter to the bird and hey presto, your done.  A great card if you need to do alot.

I have been forced to make some dreaded 'men' cards as I have a couple of nephews with birthdays soon so I'll be back to show those tomorrow.

Pin Wheel

My new bits arrived and so I had to craft even with my bad wrist.....

This card was all about trial and error.  I had a vision in my head and although the end result is nothing like I pictured, it was nice just to play about and see what I ended up with!

This card contains some sneak peeks from the new spring/summer seasonal catalogue available from February 1st so there is so much to look forward to over the next few weeks,

Have been out to prepare for the snow tomorrow....I had to get Aaron some new wellies.  He had out grown his old ones no matter how hard I tried to get them on him!!! and believe me I tried, poor boy!!!
He hates wellies but they are a must if he wants to go out in the snow. (Bet we don't get any now!!!)

Blooming with Kindness

Are you experiencing much snow... we had a flurry yesterday but the forecast for Friday seems a bit scary, we may get up to 5 inches!!!! I have to admit I hate the snow....it's not too bad if you don't have to go anywhere but I am a bit of a baby if I have to drive in it!!

I have made a card from a set that I borrowed from my Mum called blooming with kindness, it's a really lovely set.

I have used the set with one of my favourite colours, calypso coral.  The flower is made with the ruffled ribbon, they come out different every time, are really easy but quite impressive looking.  I'll try and think of an easy way of explaining the flower and perhaps do a tutorial on it.....

I have a bad wrist at the moment and its making it tricky to craft  but I am awaiting a nice big parcel from Stampin Up tomorrow so who knows, I may have to work through the pain barrier.....

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

A Very English Card

My Aunt lives in Australia and has done for many years. Its her birthday later in the month and when I saw one of the new sets that are available during sale-a-bration I knew I just had to make her a card using it.

Sale-a-bration is like the January Sales of Stampin Up.  From 22nd January through to 22nd March for every 45.00 pound you spend you can order a free product from a choice of stamp sets, papers, buttons and ribbons.  The selection really is lovely.  So why not book a workshop and spoil yourself with lots of FREE products.

Back to my card, this stamp set is one of  six you can chose from and I just had to use it from my Aunt.  Although I have met her a few times, she moved to Australia before I was born and I thought she would love to be reminded of her days in London.

I loved the telephone box and knew that it HAD to be red.  I stamped it directly onto the first editions DSP and stamped it again on very vanilla cardstock and cut it out.  I don't know if you can see from the photo below but it gives some dimention to the image.

Hopefully the spiral flower won't get too bashed up during transport.....
The set also has a penny farthing bike which will be great for mens cards so its really versatile.

Aaron is off school today, he's not feeling too great and he is as pale as snow but hopefully he'll feel better tomorrow as the boys are going for suit fittings for my nephews wedding. I can't wait to see how they look, very handsome and very grown up I'm sure.

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Fine Feathers

It was the first day back at school today and although I was dreading getting the boys up and out on time, it went really well.  I was very organised (sure that won't last) and it was stress free!!!!

I mentioned a card that I had made that I really liked....well, here it is!

I love that it is very simple, but I also think it looks impressive.  If I were to make it again I would make the panels slightly bigger though.  I stamped the image with Lucky Limeade and then using a sponge dauber I went around the edges with  Island Indigo ink.
I did see the idea for the stamping somewhere but for the life of me I can't remember where so I am unable to give credit to the talented person - sorry!
Also, apologies for the quality of the picutes, I took them this evening and it was already dark but I was keen to show you so they could be better.

Football started again this weekend and just wanted to share that the boys won their local derby 9-0.....and Elliot scored his first goal of the season so I had a very happy little boy! (He actually scored two goals on the day but the second goal was in a friendly!)

Will be back later in the week.
Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

ONE!

Good Evening,

I hope you are all getting back into the swing of every day life.  Although I have been to work  over the christmas period the boys are still off so I don't feel like we are back to normality yet!!!  Come Monday life will return to normal.. I love having my boys at home (most of the time!) so I'm not wishing the weekend away!

I have been struggling with any sort of mojo but I have just made a card that I am REALLY liking and I don't say that too often!  I will post that tomorrow but first I am showing a card for my great nephew who will be celebrating his first birthday later in the month.

I have used the snail from the Easy Events set without the sentiment beneath. As you can probably tell I have also used the spritzer.......
Now, you may notice the 'ONE'.....my Mum treated herself to a cricut mini before christmas and I just had to have a quick borrow!  If you haven't heard of a cricut, well, its a computerised die cutting system and its a bit good!!!!  I might be borrowing it again........sorry Mum.

I was very good yesterday and reorganised and sorted out my craft room hoping it was inspire me!  Let's See!!!

I don't think you've seen this!!!

Apologies for my error yesterday, must still have a slightly foggy brain due to the Christmas Holidays (I wonder how long I can use that!!!)

Anyway, quite a while back my lovely upline Amanda invited me to join her with some other lovely ladies to spend a day of crafting.  She gave us each a plain board (it had a halloween saying on it) and said we could do with it what we wanted.  I was wanting to put some magnetic sheet behind any paper I used so I didn't complete it on the day but here it is.....

See, I can pop my dies on it whilst working (obviously putting the safely away at the end of the session!)  I used the 2011-2013 incolours, pool party, calypso coral and lucky limeade.

I am really happy with the way this has turned out and pleased that I stuck to my idea and delayed finishing it.

Thanks for stopping by,
Take care

Notice the deliberate mistake.....

Wow, thats not a great start...I really thought I had taken a photo of my friends card but nooo, so I posted a card I thought I hadn't shown yet but as its been sooo long since posting, I forgot that I had already....Sorry...don;t want to bore you xxx

Thanks for quietly ignoring my stupidity

Happy New Year.....

What a bad blogger I am.....and can someone tell me where December whet!!!  It came, we enjoyed and then it went again!  It was such a busy month with the school Christmas Fayre, the Christmas play and generally getting prepared for the big day....

Back to crafting in general, I have lost any inspiration I had and so I am struggling at the moment but I'm sure normal service will be resumed shortly!!

It was my friends birthday on Christmas Eve but she has a problem with anyone giving her winter themed presents or cards so I went for a really spring like card.....

Actually this is one is the one made for my niece who was 16 at the end of November but my friends was pretty similar.
I have stamped the butterflies with versamark using to Papillion Potpourri set and heat embossed them, then punched them out using the matching punch, elegant butterfly.  The papers are from the Floral Districe set which are summery and pretty.  The base card was spritzed using my favourite tool, the spritzer (seem to be using on most things lately!)

Anyway, I will aim to be a better blogger from now on, sorry.  I wish you all a very Happy New Year, I hope 2013 is good to each and everyone of you and I'm looking forward to sharing another year of lovely crafting together.

Thanks for your patience and for stopping by,
Take care
